Former India captain Sourav Ganguly was visibly excited as he went to the Lord's Cricket Ground on Friday and posted several selfies with his colleagues at the iconic stadium.
Ganguly first came to Lord's as a young 24-year-old and hit a century on his Test debut for India against England in June, 1996. He followed that up with another hundred in the next Test in Nottingham. He also led the team to the NatWest series triumph in 2002 at the venue after which he took off his shirt and waved it from the Lord's balcony.
But this time Ganguly went to Lord's not as a former India cricketer but as the current president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Ganguly is in the United Kingdom for a meeting with officials of England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
He posted a couple of selfies with BCCI secretary Jay Shah and treasurer Arun Singh Dhumal.
"Nice venue to get back to in a different capacity .. with 2 very dear people," Ganguly said in a
tweet, also sharing a selfie with secretary Jay Shah and Treasurer Arun Singh Dhumal.
